Moorebank Logistics Park

Watson Young is designing the masterplan for Australia’s largest logistics park — the first in the world to combine rail and automation. This 240+ hectare industrial precinct in south-west Sydney features two intermodal terminals (import/export and interstate) that deliver containers directly to and from warehouse docks via a network of automated internal transfer roads. This system significantly reduces the number of commercial vehicles on roads and industrial sites, offering a more efficient and environmentally sustainable logistics solution. The masterplan delivers a coordinated interface between automation, intermodal transport, and high-volume warehouse operations. Design outcomes prioritise efficiency, sustainability, and adaptability, setting a new standard for integrated logistics precincts in Australia.
